Have you tried getting absorbed in your work so much that you lost track of time? Getting engrossed by a task like that, albeit being rare for most people, is a state of being called Flow. Promoting happiness and inspiration at work is one of the greatest challenges for management. On top of that, managers also need to provide effective LMS training that will stimulate employees to perform to the best that they can.

Flow plays a very crucial role in ensuring employee happiness at work. When employees feel happy at work and like what they do, they will not be stressed and will perform to the best of their abilities.

When an employee is working in a Flow, he is completely focused on the task at hand so much that he forgets about himself, about others, and about the world around him. Although losing track of time, the employee feels happy and in control, which then leads to more creativity and increased productivity.

One of the things that help increase true productivity is the ability to single task, as opposed to multi task. An employee finishing 20 tasks off the list is not being truly productive. True productivity is not about reaching your actual goals; it is about accomplishing the important things at work.

For a writer, real productivity means finishing one or two substantial and important articles instead of completing 15 articles about pure rubbish. Closing the important deals at work is an example of true productivity. It means working with quality, not quantity. Tell your employees that during an LMS training discussing Flow in the workplace.

How do you achieve Flow?

Work with something you love.
Working with something you hate will make it impossible for you to get engrossed in the job. If your job is practically a collection of things that you hate, then consider looking for another job or try looking for projects that you love to do within your current job.

Work with a priority.
While there are tasks that you love that are easy and important, spend your time working on tasks that will make a long term impact on your career. That way you use your time better and maintain your Flow.

Put some challenge in your work, but keep it moderate.
Finishing a task that’s too easy will feel less rewarding, while working on a task that’s too challenging will be frustrating. So find tasks that have an appropriate level of difficulty.

Introducing employees to the concept of Flow, its importance, and how to achieve it will help create a positive working environment. Hence, providing training via LMS to employees will make them more productive and improve cognitive abilities and better productivity.

You are at the peak of your career and you feel that everything is just within reach, and finally all the long hours have finally paid off: you finally got the promotion that you wanted for so long. But with the new position, what is the first thing that you should know?

Your company has most probably tucked everything in from the HR essentials up to ironing the time and schedules adjustments. However, these things may not be enough and may leave you wanting for more.

According to research, most new managers feel that their training is somehow inadequate. Five years after getting the much awaited promotion, 75% of first-time managers still struggle to be effective in their position and in handling their employees.

So, what needs to be done to make sure that you become a part of the other 25% of those who succeed? Well, an LMS course can help.

In the course, you will be taught to worry less about the technicalities of your job (although I am not saying that you should ignore them) and focus more on the people on your team. At the end of the day, management is about people. Therefore, the first thing that you should look into as new manager are the different quirks, inclinations, as well as the different approach that your employees have towards their work.

The best way that you can become an expert about your employees is by learning the different ways they think, they do things, as well as the different motivations that they have towards the job.

As a new manager, it is your responsibility to know the different ways people think and deal with things. Not only that, you also need to know how these factors affect and shape their decisions. You need to listen, to observe. Some people prefer to handle things in a certain way over another, and just because you, the manager likes to handle things differently, it does not mean that it is only method best for everyone. Although being a manager puts you in the spotlight, it does not mean that the show is entirely yours.

Being the new manager, you are expected to study the different ways that people perform. There are some employees who take problems at work as a challenge, while there are some who take it as a burden. You should be open about these differences, and value them. The same applies regarding the different ways people interact, how fast they can adapt to change, and how closely they can follow rules.

You have to remember that not all employees are motivated by money. And again, you have the freedom to judge what motivates one employee, of you can value it.

In recent times, the motivational speaker has become more important in our society than ever before. These speakers are increasingly required to use their talents to implement change for the better. The rise of the motivational speaker has been most noticeable in the world of business. Following several hard months of recession, this is especially true. Still, it appears that business leaders are confident enough that the investment in the motivational speaker will pay off.

The motivational speaker has a multi-faceted role when speaking at training days and conferences. There’s the responsibility to keep an audience entertained by and involved in the presentation whilst also actually doing the motivating. In terms of business, the motivational speaker may be called upon in times of low productivity, when negativity has polluted all aspects of a business’ process.

A motivational speaker does not aim to give the audience the answer to their problems, but rather to equip them with the tools they need to find it themselves. The most talented speakers need only words to encourage their audience to look inside themselves and question their beliefs so that they can change them for the better.

Business takeovers have proved to be one of the most popular times to employ a motivational speaker. Of course it is only natural that some anxiety and resentment might be felt when one company buys out another. There is also the sudden expansion of a team and the need to become accustomed to unfamiliar working processes. In these situations a motivational speaker is often called in for a conference or training day and might concentrate on improving the group dynamics of an organisation. It is well known that a talented motivational speaker can use just words to bring about a shared sense of purpose and a shared goal.

The motivational speaker, therefore, looks set to become an increasingly important fixture in the corporate world, particularly as companies look to pull themselves free of the recession.

Whether this new managerial position simply landed on your lap or you impressed the right people with your skills and experience, planning about your success early can do your career a lot of good. It might not show, but managing people is one of the hardest part of being a manager. And the efforts that you make when you start in your new role will se the mood for months and years to come.

Authors of management training programs try this learning management system now offering a free trial.

Aside from the substantive work that you do, the way you handle your team must be a priority. It is important that you first recognize the fact the regardless of the kind of management a strategy you apply, your goal is for you and your team members to learn from each other while in the team. And since you are the manager, it will be your responsibility to establish that give and take relationship.

If you and your team are not looking at the same goal at the end of the day, then there is a huge need to reassess your priorities. With tough luck, you will have employees who are smarter than you and who know their jobs better than you do. However, do not take this negatively, instead think of it as a blessing. When you come to think of it, the success of a manager will be deduced from the quality of work done by the team.

Usually, a supervisor fails to realize how important being educated by their employees is. Usually, what they do is give more importance to authority and control over realizing what they can get from a mutual and a continual learning process. By sharing the learning experience, it will be much easier to nurture the relationship build on respect. Work relationships built on respect lead to great performance.

That is why, your strategy should focus on the quality of your communications as well as your accessibility as a manager.

One way is to use and teach effective communications. How good you are as a leader depends on how effective your communication is with your team. The phrase “proper communication” might sound easy, but in reality it is not. It is more than just the spoken word; it is about expressing and accurate message through tone and body language and to understand the real message that you are getting in return as well. Maintaining the communication lines always open, having the knack to adapt your style with the different types of audiences, and making sure that everyone is one the same page is necessary. If you nurture your communication skills as a manager, everyone will enjoy the consequences.

It may be my red hair (and the temper that goes with it) or just plain human nature, but I have a real problem with people giving me direct orders! Last time I checked, I had not joined the armed forces (though I did consider it in my youth). However, if they are my superior (in a working relationship) I know they have the right to give orders, but that does not make it the right way.

There is a nicer, better way to accomplish the same thing, while maintaining a good working relationship. This approach involves making suggestions or asking questions, instead of commanding. Something like: “You might want to consider trying …” or “Do you think this would work?” Either of these options would be preferable.

Your approach will determine how well any criticism is received and acted upon. An approach that allows someone to save face, and perhaps learn something new in the process would surely be a better way to go. So when it is time to critique someone, try the questioning / suggestion approach and see what happens.

The first question to ask yourself is whether this person has received proper training and direction on the project at hand. If not, that is where to begin. If they have been properly trained, let them do the work and see how well they do. Then if things are still not on par with your expectations try the question / suggestion approach.

This approach gives people the opportunity to show you what they can do and how they would do it. Let them use their own creativity. You might be surprised to see that they have a better or different way than you would have used that is quite acceptable, maybe even preferable. This can work very well for your Direct Sales Marketing, and you might just learn something that you can use for your marketing business!

Thresholds upheld †thresholds are those boundaries that enable and assist in ensuring that the project does not violate the budget and resource thresholds. The deliverable is render to the customer on time.

Gained benefit †the purpose of the project is insured that there is benefit gained from the money that is exhausted to produce a product or service. The project team, the sponsor and participating stakeholders, the road in learning skill, expertise, insight, and understanding of the people resources are the part of the benefit.

Clear objectives – distinctly defined objectives from the outlet is the most successful projects. To see to it that that these objectives are achieved, clearly defined object to this, detailed cost descriptions must be wellâ€defined, so ensuring that the golden objectives are met. Regardless of the stakeholder, by applying these methods, your objectives can be clearly seen.

Communication as you will know, the success of any project, programme, portfolio, or business at large hinges on the team’s ability to communicate with one another. In an organization between the individuals involves communication in collaboration. To keep team members and stakeholders informed of developments on the project every effort must be made. Teamwork makes teamwork. It is a continuous process – communication.

A controlled scope †several issues will come up during your project. They took me many of the scope of the project. Monitor and control all and every change to the scope. It is essential that the project team remain focused on the work of teachers they have to deliver. A lack of focus habitually leads to scope creep, causing slippage in the time, cost, quality, and scope of work.

Focus on three dimensions of project success. †success means finishing all project deliverables on time, within scope, within budget, and to a level of quality that is acceptable to sponsors and stakeholders.

1. It will result in internal conflict when the business does not buy into the project and abdictaes responsibility.

All projects coordinate to a business strategy. All projects are purposed for results. All projects change the current way the business is to work. These aspects will be definitely make life easier for the end user, will provide faster and more efficient; provided they are carried out correctly and all stakeholders have been consulted for their acceptance criteria. The scope statement includes milestones, objectives, requirements, thresholds, and acceptance criteria are what you should remember; all of which requires stakeholders to add their significant share and take part.

2. There are multiple and conflicting goals which impact on the project.

Positive conflict is acceptable; It is brilliant, agreeing to disagree yet continuing to work together and on the project for its interests. Something has not been defined correctly and not accepted by the stakeholders when there are continued conflicts. The conflicting goals highlight the areas that ask correction. Formalize the ‘”define, design and develop’’ goals. Workshop the conflicting areas with all significant stakeholders and agree the changes.
3. It’s mistaken and unrealistic initial estimate and time frames.

Usually the sales team has manipulated the estimates and time frames to make sure that the contract for the project was agreed, accepted and signed. Can you adjust these constraints? Yes and No. On the project owner’s decision it will be dependent. If they have the capacity, they will do so. In most instances, you will be required to commence the project and whilst delivering the project, phase by phase, stage by stage, establish the correct measures and present them to the project owner.

4. The business is not ready for the change.

“…any alteration of activities in an organization” is how Smith and du Plessis (1994:107) identify change. According to Kiernan (1997:81), most people find very rapid or unpredictable change uncomfortable, frightening and upsetting. Robbins and Finley (1997:38), outline the importance of involving people early in the change process. Cockman, Evans and Reynolds (1999:59), state that people all differ and therefore, react differently to change.

The differences are in respect of the following:

personalities;

skills;

ability;

aspirations; and

feelings / emotions (especially about change).

The people that will be affected by the change should have the opportunity to comment or provide input to the change. It will be decided by the communication and training effort during the change how successfully the change is enforced. It is essential in ensuring the successful implementation of the change, understanding and dealing with these differences Projects fail most of the time due to lack of acceptance by the organization.

5. The execution of the project results in chaos.

The way in which you give the project is essential. Always consider the policies and procedures of the company, the governances that are to be upheld, the protocol’s aiding the correct interactions and the culture and environment the project is to be deployed in. Furthermore, your project approach must include all these aspects and they must be conveyed to all stakeholders. The biggest challenge today, facing any organization implementing projects, is the correctness to coordinate people, culture and processes.

Project goals and objectives must be well defined in order to handle and manipulate the people challenge These projects goals and objectives are generated through milestones and clearly defined deliverables. Over and above this, successful project management requires the following infrastructure basics:

basic people management skills;

established processes for organisational planning;

communication skills and channels;

management tools; and

coâ€operation, teamwork.

I was listening to a very informative podcasts on how to motivate and coach salespeople and I wanted to share it with you. It talks about how leaders today can and should motivate their salespeople. Leaders are self expressed and passionate about what they’re doing which includes motivating their sales teams. The best leaders create the culture not have the culture create itself. To create the culture, it means if you want an honest, open line of communication then as a leader you have to be open and honest.

Today’s management is different than past generations. It’s about listening, not preaching. It’s about asking questions and taping into your sales teams inner wisdom. Everyone is different and so everyone needs to be managed differently. By creating a culture of open communication then your sales team will let you know what makes them tick and will keep them growing.

The podcasts also brought up a very interesting example. The push vs. pull structure. If you as a manager continue to push your sales people up a hill they will grow but as soon as you stop pushing then they just roll back down the hill. If you instead use the pull structure, then you can help pull your sales people to new and exciting heights. Once you stop pulling, then as a manager you have created a self sufficient sales person who will continue to push to reach the top and begin setting new and higher goals of success.

Please check out the podcast below as it was very informative.
